Mannar passed away and the journalists are intimidated.

Mannar Mannan is no more.

                                                                                                                 

            We all might have studied about Bharathidasan, a Tamil poet. He had 4 children. Among them, Mannar Mannan, his only son passed away at his 92 on Monday (06/07/2020)

He had written many books. He was article writer in Nakkeeran. He had won several awards like kalaimaamai award of TN government, Tamil Mamani of Puducherry government.

He was a freedom fighter. He also took part in linguistic struggles and was put behind bars. He was associated with leaders including Periyar and Kamarajar.

His Message

Though he was financially poor, He did not do any malpractice. He used his writing skill for survival. He wrote very interestingly about his father's life [Bharathidasan's life] in Nakkheeran Magazine. 

Age is just a number. Our skills and confidence matter.

One more interesting fact is, as we all know, many of the songs of Bharathidasan were in Tamil cinema. One new song 'Avalum Naanum' from 'acham enbathu madamaiyada' film is also written by Bharathidasan.

Intimidation for Journalism.

We are all aware of the present condition in our state. Apart from the pandemic, there are threats against journalist and journalism.

We might think, if there is a problem for a journalist, what is my concern? I have remote, I can change my TV channels.

If these journalists are thrown away from their seats, a fearful mindset will be created in all other News reporters. As a result, they may not convey the truth. Incidents will be reported as accident and Accidents will be converted into incidents.

Why News l8?

 It is a national level network. Some reporters, belonging to the channel says the truth and ask the question again the ruling party.

Why some youtube channels like karuppar Desam and U2Brutus? 

    These channels straight away mention the names and raise the questions, to which the politicians especially from ruling party [BJP] can't answer. 

    It is our duty to stand with those people who bring the truth to us through social media.
